When Congress talks about fiscal responsibility, they usually discuss cutting our deficit, but they rarely say anything about what we need to do with our debt. The national debt is the more important problem. The larger debt grows, the more of our tax money goes to paying interest on that debt.

The Message: Promote the General Welfare

If there was no national debt, there would be at least $14 trillion to be used to create jobs and grow businesses in all our communities. A pastor in a low income community recently said that when any money comes into his community, the money quickly leaves. The money does not “revolve” around the community.
