DNC Platform

October 20, 2012, Posted by Scott Cumbie at 10:39 AM

Recently, I heard John MacArthur say, “I’m not one to talk about politics as such, but I was essentially amazed that one of the historic parties here in the United States adopted the sins of Romans 1 as their platform.”

Following is Romans 1:18-32 with the 2012 Democrat platform quoted inline:

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. 19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. 21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things. 24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves,

DNC: The Affordable Care Act ensures that women have access to contraception in their health insurance plans.

DNC: Democrats support evidence-based and age-appropriate sex education.

25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator,

DNC: We know that global climate change is one of the biggest threats of this generation—an economic, environmental, and national security catastrophe in the making. We affirm the science of climate change, commit to significantly reducing the pollution that causes climate change, and know we have to meet this challenge by driving smart policies…

DNC: … we are committed to environmental justice.

DNC: The national security threat from climate change is real, urgent, and severe.

who is blessed forever! Amen.

26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women

DNC: We support the full repeal of the so-called Defense of Marriage Act and the passage of the Respect for Marriage Act.

and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

DNC: We support marriage equality. … We oppose discriminatory federal and state constitutional amendments and other attempts to deny equal protection of the laws to committed same-sex couples.

DNC: The Administration has said that the word “family” in immigration includes LGBT relationships …

DNC: State Department is funding a program that finances gay rights organizations to combat discrimination, violence, and other abuses.

DNC: End[ed] ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ in full cooperation with our military leadership.

28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. 29 They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil,

DNC: The President issued an executive order repealing the restrictions on embryonic stem cell research.

covetousness,

DNC: We believe in deficit reduction… by cutting out programs we can’t afford and asking the wealthiest to again contribute their fair share.

DNC: …while asking the wealthiest and corporations to pay their fair share.

DNC: …the President has asked for the wealthiest taxpayers to pay their fair share.

malice. They are full of envy, murder,

DNC: The Democratic Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman’s right to make decisions regarding her pregnancy, including a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay. We oppose any and all efforts to weaken or undermine that right.

DNC: President Obama and Democrats will continue to stand up to Republican efforts to defund Planned Parenthood health centers.

DNC: President Obama and the Democratic Party are committed to supporting family planning around the globe. … That’s why, in his first month in office, President Obama overturned the “global gag rule,” a ban on federal funds to foreign family planning organizations that … offered abortions.

strife, deceit,

DNC: We believe the right to vote and to have your vote counted is an essential American freedom, and we oppose laws that place unnecessary restrictions on those seeking to exercise that freedom. Democrats have a proud history of standing up for the right to vote.

Note: The Republican Party was founded in 1854 as the anti-slavery party. They passed the 13th (abolition of slavery), 14th (equal rights and due process for ex-slaves), and 15th (right to vote for ex-slaves) amendments which the Democrats attempted to repeal in the 1890s. The Republican Party passed the 19th (right to vote for women) and 24th (abolition of poll taxes) amendments. The 1964 Civil Righs and Voting Rights Acts were originally written by the Republican Party under President Eisenhower and were passed under Lyndon Johnson with Republicans voting in much higher percentages than Democrats.

The Ku Klux Klan, originally created as an arm of the Democrat party to fight against black and white Republicans, used physical violence and intimidation to suppress the vote of Republicans. In 2008, the (Democrat) Black Panthers intimidated voters coming to some polls.

It is the Democrat party who has a shameful history of voter intimidation and suppression.

maliciousness. They are gossips, 30 slanderers,

DNC: The Republican Party has turned its back on the middle class Americans who built this country. Our opponents believe we should go back to the top-down economic policies of the last decade. They think that if we simply eliminate protections for families and consumers, let Wall Street write its own rules again, and cut taxes for the wealthiest, the market will solve all our problems on its own. They argue that if we help corporations and wealthy investors maximize their profits by whatever means necessary, whether through layoffs or outsourcing, it will automatically translate into jobs and prosperity that benefits us all. They would repeal health reform, turn Medicare into a voucher program, and follow the same path of fiscal irresponsibility of the past administration—giving trillions of dollars in tax cuts weighted towards millionaires and billionaires while sticking the middle class with the bill. But we’ve tried their policies—and we’ve all suffered when they failed.

Note: I do not know any Republican that believes any of the things stated above. This is nothing short of the Democrat party “bearing false witness against your neighbor” (the Republican party) (Exodus 20:16).

haters of God,

At the Democrat National Convention in 2012, the DNC platform which was adopted by the delegates had the last references to God removed. When this began to be reported publicly, the Democrat leadership decided that they needed to reinsert a reference to God in the platform. The DNC voted 3 times to amend the platform to add a reference to God and to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. The vote required a 2/3 majority for approval. It was clear with each of the 3 voice votes that the amendments failed to pass. Following the third vote, the chairman announced that in his ‘opinion’ the amendment passed. The DNC delegates then began to boo.

insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32 Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

DNC: We oppose discriminatory federal and state constitutional amendments and other attempts to deny equal protection of the laws to committed same-sex couples who seek the same respect and responsibilities as other married couples. We support the full repeal of the so-called Defense of Marriage Act and the passage of the Respect for Marriage Act.
